If error messages are displayed indicating the SEP uninstall failed or your computer is behaving abnormally, please contact us via the CCIT Technology Support Center Helpdesk at for assistance. We will notify those users to coordinate the removal of SEP from their PCs or Macs. The timeline for the manual removal of Symantec Endpoint is to be announced. An alternative antivirus product will be installed on the PC or Mac at that time. If either of those situations is applicable, CCIT will need to uninstall SEP manually. Another involves SEP installed on an Apple Mac. One concerns Windows computers which have SEP installed, but which are not joined to the ADIT domain. There are situations where the automatic SEP removal will not work. Once SEP is uninstalled, antivirus and malware protection will be provided automatically by Windows Defender or Microsoft Security Essentials, depending on the version of Windows installed. There should be no other notifications displayed and no restart of your computer is required. When the process runs, you will see a notification that the SEP uninstall is proceeding. The removal process will begin on Friday, May 18, and continue until complete.įor Mines Windows computers that are joined to the ADIT domain, the SEP removal process will occur with little to no impact on your ADIT login routine.
